Alva Lewis Davidson Jr, age 99, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Alva was born July 06, 1924 in Tuttle, Oklahoma, a son of Marie Alice and Alva L. Davidson, Sr. He was raised alongside his older brother Amos and younger sister Lois.
He met and married Alice Marie Stonebraker September 6, 1941 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma before Alva went to serve the United States Navy in World War II on board the USS Maury 401. For almost two years, his assignment was to oversee the loading of artillery. The couple was blessed with two sons Alva Lewis III and Eddie. Their family was complete when they adopted their only daughter Teresa Darlene and Tommy Davdison.
Alva owned and operated Al's Machine Shop in Oklahoma City for many years before moving it to Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Alva enjoyed being Grandpa and Papa to his grandchildren, fishing at Seminole Lake and being an honorary member of Centennial Squares square dance club in Newcastle where he loved watching the dancing and listening to music. He spent many hours working on his classic cars and enjoyed windshield time riding motorcycles.
Alva is survived by his daughter Theresa Darlene Davidson and Timothy Smith; son Tommy Davidson; 14 grandchildren Lisa Davidson, Hal Davidson, Chuck Davidson and wife Janet, Ted Davidson, Shelly Stiers and husband Danny, Bonnita Cloud and husband Rick, Toni Briggs and husband Tyler, Harley Hononichi and wife Jennifer, Michael Hononichi and wife Cortney, Tyler Hononichi, Destiny Davidson, and Mercedes Litsch and husband Marcus, Emily Davidson, Molly Davidson, Tristan Mason, and Corbin Davidson, 12 great grandchildren Layla, Skyley, Michael, Lex, Logan, Danyell, Dillon, Sawyer, Shayla , Misty, and Wade, Stacia, Cody, six great-great grandchildren; daughter in law Bunndy Davidson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Alva is preceded in death by his parents Marie Alice and Alva Davidson, Sr.; wife of 75 years Alice Davidson; brother Amos Davidson and wife Wilda; sister Lois Main and Husband Harold; son Alva L Davidson III and wife Nita; and son Harold Edward Davidson.
