Anita Louise McCoy, passed away peacefully at age 77, on October 14, 2024. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and will be dearly missed by all.
Anita was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on July 30, 1947 to the delight of her parents Fern and Otto Kuhlman. She grew up on the family farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma and shared her life with six other siblings - Bill, Patsy, Diane, Shirley, Sandy, and Jimmy. She lead a full and busy life and always had plenty to do. When asked by one of her siblings how she would describe her childhood, she said "We just had fun!”… to which the other siblings would agree.
She graduated from Tuttle High School in 1961, and married Scott Fulton in 1968. Scott and Anita were proud parents, and she became a devoted mother to Jeffrey and his little sister Shana. Anita worked for Chickasha Glass for several years and was a long time employee at First National Bank for 22 years. Later in life, Anita married John McCoy, and they enjoyed 24 years together before she passed.
She is survived by her loving husband John, her daughter Shana Wilson of Chickasha, and her two grandchildren, Braden Wilson and Lexie Wilson, both of Chickasha; four siblings - Diane Lair of Tuttle, Shirley Harp of Blanchard, Sandy Merritt of Tulsa, and Jimmy Kuhlman of Tuttle, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister Patsy Kuhlman, her son Jeffrey Fulton, her brother Bill Kuhlman, and her parents Otto and Fern Kuhlman. Despite her losses, Anita had strong conviction that she would once again see her loved ones who preceded her in death. They would be resurrected back to life, as God has promised... a promise that was very real to her, a real hope that she cherished.
Anita was an active member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Chickasha, Oklahoma. At an early age, she learned the truth from the Bible. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses during a momentous international convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses that was held at Yankee Stadium in New York City in July 1958. On that occasion, she rejoiced with her brother, Bill, and her dad, Otto, who were also baptized the same day.
Anita enjoyed spending time in her ministry, dancing, shopping, and always enjoyed the company of friends and family. She will be remembered for her vibrant, caring, and bubbly personality...One who never met a stranger, always ready to help when a need arose. She loved her life and her family. All who knew her, loved her.
