Billy Ray "Bill" Berry, Sr., age 87, passed away on November 25, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Bill was born on January 25, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Pearl and Joe Berry the second of four boys Jesse Wayne, Billy Ray, Jimmy Wendell and Bobby Joe. They were raised in they city with humble beginnings and developed a hard work ethic.
Bill graduated from Northeast High School graduating with the class of 1953.
Bill married Ginger Berry on December 5, 1964 in Garland, TX. The couple shared nearly 58 years of marriage together. They enjoyed camping trips with their family and loved fellowship with friends at church.
Bill was best known for his ability to fix anything he wanted to. He enjoyed collecting guns from historic war times and was well versed in the gun's history. Among his family and friends, he was known as a fire arm expert. He loved driving a school bus for Bridge Creek public schools and took his role seriously.
He was a father who showed up and was involved with his four children David Ray, Shawn Kay, Billy Ray Jr., and Susan Denise. He loved taking his children on hunting trips, to the gun range and spending quality time together. He was intentional to instill their faith and belief in the Lord from a young age.
One of his favorite roles was being a PePaw to Stephanie, Steven, Ashten, Jake, Hunter, Dillon and Wyatt. He loved teaching them firearm safety and how to shoot guns as well as bow and arrows. PePaw also could be counted on to attend their sporting events as one of their biggest fans.
Bill also served as an airman in the National Guard for four years and loved his country to the core.
Bill is survived by his wife Ginger Berry; son David Berry and wife Glenda; daughter Shawn Stabler; son Billy Berry, Jr. and wife Kyoko; daughter Susie Engle and husband Jason; granddaughter Stephanie Schrock; grandson Steven Schrock, granddaughter Ashten Grover and husband Mat; grandson Jake Engle; grandson Hunter Engle and wife Hannah; grandson Dillon Berry and grandson Wyatt Berry; great grandchildren Kenzie, Ryan and Presley; and brother Bobby Joe Berry and wife Kelly and many nieces, nephews friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Pearl and Joe Berry; infant brother Jesse Berry; and brother Jimmy Berry.
