Bodie Wayne Goodspeed

Bodie Wayne Goodspeed, 60, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on January 22, 2025.

Bodie was born on June 8, 1964, in Borger, Texas, to Walton "Speedy" Goodspeed and Ruby Jean Adams, joining his beloved sisters. He grew up in a close-knit, humble home, where he learned the values of hard work and determination. In his youth, Bodie played football in middle school and pursued his passion for rodeo, bravely riding broncs. After graduating high school, he jumped straight into the workforce, securing a position in the oil and gas industry that would later define his career.

Bodie met Tammi Hopper through family friends, and after years of knowing each other, he finally asked her out. From that moment on, their love story flourished. The couple shared a deep bond, spending weekends at rodeos, enjoying dinner dates, and catching the latest action movies together. Bodie always supported Tammi's dreams and ambitions, often encouraging her with his trademark phrase, "You do you, Tammi." Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, raising two children, Roy Wayne and Brandi Mae.

As a father, Bodie was firm but fair, always leading with love and support. He was a steadfast presence in his children’s lives, cheering them on at sports games and livestock shows, and guiding them with his wisdom and unwavering encouragement. His family was his greatest pride and joy.

Professionally, Bodie exemplified the true meaning of hard work and perseverance. Starting at the bottom, he climbed the ranks in the oil and gas industry, through various roles.  His colleagues admired his leadership, integrity, and the respect he showed to everyone he worked with.

Outside of work, Bodie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—he loved to check on his cattle, attend rodeos and spending time with his loved ones.

Bodie is survived by his wife of 39 years Tammi Goodspeed; son Roy Goodspeed and wife Hannah; daughter Brandi Jennings and husband Jaime; grandson Jett Jennings; grandson Tiger Goodspeed; sister Debbie DeForrest and husband Troy; and many family and friends.
