Charles Gregory Moon Jr., age 33, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with mental health.
Charles was born on February 6, 1991, in Tucson, Arizona, to Susie Soto and Charles Moon Sr. He was raised in Tucson, where he attended school, loved playing basketball, and later developed a passion for motocross racing. Charles graduated from Mountain Rose Academy with the class of 2010.
A talented individual who loved working with his hands, Charles went on to become an electrician in construction. He was happiest outdoors, especially while visiting his grandparents' vacation homes in Hawaii and Mount Lemmon. He also enjoyed watching Arizona Wildcats basketball and listening to a wide range of music genres.
Charles met Monica Miraglata. Together, they were blessed with twins, Olivia Grey and Charles Gregory III, and shared a loving family with Monica’s daughter, Blayklee, who instantly bonded to him. Charles cherished their time together, especially reading with the children, making them laugh, and taking day trips to Lake Lawtonka.
Known for his humor, kindness, and acceptance of others, Charles was a loyal friend to many. He was highly intelligent and had a remarkable ability to learn quickly. Friendship was important to him, and he was cherished by those who knew him.
Charles faced challenges with mental health, which led to struggles with substance abuse. Despite these challenges, he was fortunate to have the support of family, friends, and the resources provided by Hope Ministries in Edmond, Oklahoma. Here, he received mental health support, vocational guidance, and the hope of overcoming his illness. His family is grateful to the dedicated staff of Hope Ministries for their work in supporting those facing mental health challenges and their families. Charles’s kindness and genuine goodness left a lasting impact on all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished by all.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Olivia Moon; son, Charles Moon III; beloved partner, Monica Miraglata, and her daughter, Blayklee; mother, Susie Soto-Osborn, and her husband, Jay (stepfather); father, Charles Moon Sr., and his wife, Kim (stepmother); sister, Emily Moon; brother, Shelby Osborn; sister, Kandice Farley, and her husband, Wes Farley; niece, Shyenne Farley; grandfather, James Moon, and his wife, Linda; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Judy and Carlos Soto; grandmother, Charmaine Moon; and cousin, Chris Moon.
