Cody Tylor Brown

Cody Tylor Brown, age 33, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Cody was born July 25, 1990 in Poteau Oklahoma, a son of Christy Dameron-Johnson and Jack Brown. He was raised in Poteau, Oklahoma alongside his siblings Nik and Trey where he became an accomplished wrestler. From an early age, he had a passion for classic trucks, especially the 1987 Chevrolet shortbed. Cody graduated with the Wister High School class of 2008.

Cody entered the workforce after high school in the oil field. The majority of his career was with Cactus Drilling where he was well thought of and respected by his co-workers, many of which became close friends. He spent his career working on rigs as a mechanic in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. Cody spent the last two years of his life as a field mechanic serving rigs in Oklahoma and Texas.

Cody was a proud father of his four children Axel Tylor, Bradley Hope, Sadie Bristol, and Ali Brooke. While his duties in the oilfield meant that his schedule was demanding, he did his very best to be present and engaged with his kids as they grew up. He was so very proud and wanted the best for them. While in the last year there was distance, Cody carried his kids in his heart each and every day. He was steadfast in his effort to continue his own relationship with them and while it was discouraging at times, he focused on the opportunities given to show that he would always love them.

Cody met Kayla Williams and their connection was instant. They both felt they had found home in one another. Cody and Kayla married August 11, 2023 in Ft Smith Arkansas. As a result, he became a bonus Dad to Mckenzie, Maddy, Brock, and Blakely. When he was home from the rig, Cody enjoyed spending time with his busy family laughing, going to cheer, and sporting events. He also enjoyed time spent hanging out with friends who had become like family to him.

Cody is best known for his work ethic, high energy, loyalty, and love for children. He was happiest riding his 2018 Indian Chief Dark Horse motorcycle and front porch sitting with family and friends. Cody loved being at the lake relaxing and unwinding on the boat.

Cody is survived by his wife Kayla Brown; son Axel Brown; daughter Bradley Brown; daughter Sadie Brown; daughter Ali Brown; bonus children Mckenzie, Maddy, Brock, and Blakely Gaylord; mother Christy Dameron-Johnson; father Jack Brown; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Cody is preceded in death by his grandmother Diana Dameron, Great Grandparents Bill and Ruth Baker, Aunt Cyndi Burke, Aunt Karen Lambert, Uncle Gary Baker, and his special cousin Greg Lambert.
