Dorothy "Joyce" Potter, 94, passed away on April 4, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Joyce was born on April 24, 1928 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Cora and Ronald Hale. She graduated from El Reno High school and then went on to work at the phone company in El Reno, Oklahoma until she married her Husband Joe, on June 18, 1954 in El Reno Oklahoma. Together the couple had three beautiful children, Paul Hale, Joni Joyce, and Bryan Gene. She was a mother who was nurturing, loved to read to her children and provide a loving home for them.
She was best known as a woman of faith who was a Sunday school teacher raising her family in church. S
he loved others and in return she was dearly loved. She truly never knew a stranger. She enjoyed to sew and baked delicious brownies and pies for her family. She especially enjoyed being Grandma to all of her grandchildren. Each of them have wonderful memories of taking trips with her.
Joyce is survived by her son Paul Potter and wife Cindy; daughter Joni Morgan; son Bryan Potter; grandchildren Jason Canary, Janae Berg and husband Scott, Ashley Campbell and husband Jesse, Derick Potter and wife Kelsey, Brittani Beard and husband Luke, Cory Potter and wife Brianna, Chris Potter, Beau Potter and wife Chelsea; Great grandchildren Jade, Harper, Joe, Kinley, Lucy, Case, Wyatt, Kately, Lawson, Remi, Alli, Easton, Lily, Stetson and one great great granddaughter Emma; sister Mary Martin; brother-in-law Don Potter and wife JoAn; sister in law Pat Coale and husband Jim; cousin Joe Hale and many beloved nieces and nephews on both sides of her family.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Cora and Ronald Hale; her in-laws Wilmuth and Horace Potter; husband Joe Potter; sister Alene Bolinger and brother in-law Eldon; sister Vivian Williams and brother in-law Allen; brother Ronald Hale and sister-in-law Norma; brother Harry Hale and sister in-law Bernadine; brother Gene Hale, sister and brother in-law Gwen and Harold Long; and brother in-law Dan Potter.
