Earl Leroy Scott

Earl Leroy Scott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023, in Tuttle, Oklahoma at the age of 80.

Born on June 8, 1942, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Leroy served in the United States Army as a diesel mechanic at the age of 17. He toured France, Germany, Austria, and Spain before returning home after three years. He married the love of his life, Sonja Waldron (Scott), at the preacher's house in Amber, Oklahoma shortly after moving to Moore, Oklahoma, where he worked as a supervisor at Star Building Systems and welcomed two children, Craig Leroy and Lisa Ann.

In 1977, the family relocated to Tuttle, Oklahoma, where Leroy enjoyed planting trees, growing vegetables, and doing yard work during his leisure time. He left Star Building System after 30 years to work as a warehouse manager for Troy Wesnidge Furniture until his retirement.

Leroy was a lifelong sports fan, particularly passionate about his Tuttle Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, and Oklahoma City Thunder. He loved country music and was known for his Johnny Cash impressions. He also enjoyed horse racing and playing the lottery.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 59 years Sonja Scott; son Craig Scott and wife Billie; daughter Lisa Wesnidge and husband Kevin; grandchildren Chantz Wesnidge and husband Jaysen; Caleb Scott and wife Lauren; Chelsea Wesnidge and Cannon Scott; great grandchildren Tucker, Levi, Lawson, Charley, Sophie, and Molly; twin brother Leon Scott; dear friends Roxanne and Paul Ericksen; and numerous extended family members and friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family, and his unwavering patriotism.

Memorial Contributions may be made in honor of Leroy to the Alzheimer's Association to support research into Alzheimer's and Dementia. Leroy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
