Elizabeth Dwight

Elizabeth Dwight, age 83, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Elizabeth was born August 26, 1940 in Huntsville, Texas, a daughter of Katy and Herman Vice. She was raised alongside her younger brother Herman, Jr where they attended school. Elizabeth graduated with the Hunstville High School class of 1959.

Elizabeth went on to earn her teaching degree at Abilene Christian University. Her teaching career lead her to classrooms in Port Arthur, Texas, Denver Colorado, and Dallas, Texas. She met James Dwight at church and the two fell in love immediately. They were married June 27, 1970 in their friends backyard in Dallas, Texas. The couple was blessed with two children Jami Elise and James Hensley, Jr. She was a selfless mother who loved to laugh and loved her children deeply. Elizabeth loved being Nanna to her five grandchildren Ronan, Jaylyn, Emma, Rylee, and Asher.

Elizabeth had a love for adventure and travel that was infectious. She was known for her "dig deep" layer salad, collecting antique glass, hummel figurines, and other antique collectibles. She loved animals, and working outdoors with flowers.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Dwight; daughter Jami Gustafson and husband Brad; son Jay Dwight and wife Emily; grandchildren Ronan Bridges, Jaylyn Gustafson, Emma Dwight, Rylee Gustafson, and Asher Dwight, brother Herman, Jr. along with many relatives, cousins and friends.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents Katy and Herman Vice.
