Graveside Services for Mr. Elvie Polson, age 92, longtime resident of Tuttle, Oklahoma will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Amber Cemetery in Amber, Oklahoma. Elvie passed away late Thursday evening, March 13, 2025, in the Tuttle Care Center.
Elvie was born on Saturday, March 26, 1932, in Minco, Oklahoma the son of Delbert Dee and Genevive Loretta (Madden) Polson. He was raised and educated in Grady County where he attended school and worked the farm. He was united in marriage to Miss Vera Lopez Fisher on Wednesday, January 26, 1955. Vera and Elvie celebrated 69 years of marriage before she passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
Elvie was employed as a metal worker with Gulf Stream of Oklahoma City for many years before his retirement in 1994. He loved the Lord and spent his adult life doing his best to serve Him in everything he did. Elvie's nieces, nephews and grandchildren were the lights of his life. He and Vera spent their retirement years caring for Connor, Lindsey and Grant. They are who they are today because of the love and dedication these two poured into their lives. Each day revolved around whatever his nieces, nephews and grandkids desired. Elvie and Vera were simply the most loving and caring people you will ever meet. Elvie also enjoyed gathering with friends playing the guitar and singing his favorite songs. Music has always been a vital part of his life. Elvie was a devoted member of the Sharon Evangel Pentecostal Church of Tuttle.
In addition to his wife, Vera, he was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Ace, Lacey, Otis, Howard, Delbert, Raymond, and four sisters Irene, Lida, Maxine and Gerry.
Survivors include his brother, Don Polson, and his wife, Jan; their sons, Clay Polson and his wife, Andrea, along with their children, Connor, Lindsey, and Grant Polson and his wife, Shelby; and Link Polson and his wife, Sarena, with their daughters, Savannah and Mariah. He is also survived by his stepson, David Fisher, Sr., and his wife, Cheri, and his children, Jessie Fisher, Maria Webb and her husband, Mark, David Fisher, Jr. and his wife, Shieny, and Phillip Fisher and his wife, Lacey. Additionally, he leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Tayler Brown, Lindsey Marie and Mary Lee Anne, as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Arrangements for Elvie and his family are in the care of the O’Hara Family and Tribute Memorial Care Southwest of Tuttle, Oklahoma.
