James Collins Jr, known to most people as Jim, died on December 30, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK.
He was born on May 19, 1959 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Shirley and James Collins. Jim graduated high school from Port Angeles High School in 1977. He was a gifted athlete and participated in many sports such as football, wrestling, martial arts, and shot put on track and field. He broke and set many records at his high school, and was nick named "bear" for his size and strength.
Jim married Brenda Quinn in June 1980, and they were married 34 years before her passing in Dec 2014. They were blessed with three children Shannon Nicole, Brandon James and Chrystal Gail.
He began his career as a residential and commercial painter, and worked other jobs before eventually getting into the restaurant business. He worked management positions at Sirloin Stockade, Golden Corral, Corner Bakery, and Chili's.
During his younger years, Jim enjoyed playing sports and painting. He was also a gifted artist. After he became a husband and father, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Dallas Cowboys play football, and playing card games. He loved his grandkids and his favorite thing to do was to visit them and bring them candy. He met and began dating Debbie Davis in May 2018, and they fell in love. Jim loved their property in Minco, Oklahoma. They had many animals, including several dogs Jim loved and he liked to ride around on his lawn mower looking at the chickens. Jim and Debbie enjoyed playing marbles, eating at their favorite Mexican and Chinese restaurants, and going to the movies together.
Jim is survived by his loving partner Debbie Davis of Minco, OK; daughter Shannon White and husband Jerry of Choctaw, OK; son Brandon Collins and wife Veronica of Providence Village, TX; daughter Chrystal Beeson and husband Derrick of Midwest City, OK; 11 grandchildren Novalee, Issac, Dawson, Zeeva, Talya, Raegan, Jocelyn, Christian, Ethan, Hayden and Brooke; brother Ray Collins of Lewisville TX; and his mother Shirley Collins of Suncity West AZ
Jim is preceded in death by his father James Collins Sr and wife Brenda Collins.
