Jerry Autry, 78, passed away on May 18, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Jerry Autry was born on September 1, 1943 in Rush Springs, OK, to Bessie (Gore) and Earl Autry. At six months old, his family relocated to Tuttle, OK where he attended school. He was an athlete in football, basketball and baseball and in the FFA where he showed steers. Jerry graduated Tuttle High School with the class of 1961. He went to work for Wylie Stewart in the parts department before going in to large equipment sales for many years. He owned and operated Tri City Sandblasting where he worked for 20 years until his retirement.
He loved spending time at their property on Lake Eufala where the family spent time on the lake fishing, tubing and water skiing. In addition to all the fun was time spent as a family enjoying lots of food and he was always known for his love of fireworks.
Jerry married Linda Sue Main on December 21, 1963 at Tuttle First Baptist Church. The couple were blessed with three children Jill Antoinette, Janna Sue and Jeffrey Allen. He was happiest at their home where he and Sue lived for 52 years and raised their children. Jerry would be found working in his emmaculate yard, riding his golf cart, watering his trees and flowers, and cooking out on weekends for family and friends.
Jerry was best known for his witty sayings, being a gifted welder, grilling prior to race days at State Fair Speedway, and how much he loved his children and his seven grandchildren Kayla, Lisa, Weston, Ryan, Jared, Joshua, and Cole as well as four great grandchildren Emilee, Kason, Carson and Sutton.
Jerry was a patriotic man selflessly served in the Army National Guard for six years. He was a man who was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years Sue, daughter Jill Locke and husband Bruce; daughter Janna Titler, son Jeff Autry and wife Carrie, granddaughter Kayla Locke; granddaughter Lisa Davis and husband Taylor; grandson Weston Locke and wife Paige; grandson Ryan Titler; grandson Jared Titler; grandson Joshua Titler and fiance Emily; grandson Cole Autry; great granchildren Emilee, Kason, Carson and Sutton; sister Peggy Copeland and husband Bill and sister Betty Maney.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother Ralph Autry; sister Frances Dunagan; sister Velma Handke; sister Gearline Owen; sister Pat Moore; and brother Johnny Autry.
