Jewell Inez (Beaver) Jantz, age 88, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Jewell was born April 26, 1935 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, a daughter of Alma and Homer Beaver. She was raised alongside her siblings Anthony, Andrew, Homer, Howard, Rusty, and Lois in Chickasha where she attended school graduating from Chickasha High School.
Jewell married the love of her life Doyle Jantz on September 02, 1952 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Jewell lived on their farm for approximately 70 years and truly enjoyed the adventures they, as a family, experienced. She was very helpful with cattle roundup and administering the necessary medication to insure a healthy herd. She enjoyed gardening and canning the harvest that the garden produced after the deer got their share. Jewell was a bird lover as the evidence of that love showed with Martin houses and many others to accommodate many other birds. She loved to tell of the many experiences she had living on the farm and they were very entertaining to hear.
Jewell co-owned and operated Lee's Casual, a ladies dress shop in Chickasha, for more than 30 years alongside her husband. They had a loyal clientele who appreciated their unique and quality wardrobe pieces and accessories.
Jewell had fond memories of family gatherings at G.D. and Lois' house, especially at Christmas time. A lot of laughter, love, and visits until day break was always something she looked forward to during the holiday season.
Jewell is preceded in death by her husband Doyle Jantz; daughter Debby; brothers Anthony, Andrew, Homer, Howard, and Rusty Beaver; and sister Lois Vice.
Jewell is survived by her daughter Becky Showalter and husband Archie; granddaughter Heather Nicole Rosen; grandson Brandon Showalter; great-grandchildren Austin Blake Myers, Aiden Martin Rosen, James Hollis Williams IV, Aurora Inez Kathryn Williams, and Joel Showalter; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
