Karen Ann Machlan, age 75, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 11, 2024 at her home in Yukon, Oklahoma.
Karen was born May 28, 1948 in Manteca, California, a daughter of Betty and William Bianchi. She was raised alongside her younger brother Robert. Karen attended Manteca High School graduating with the class of 1967.
Karen married Phillip Daniel and from that union was blessed with her only daughter Sherri Ann. She was a very involved mother coaching Sherri's t-ball team, was home room mom in elementary, and chaperoned dances in high school. Karen was a proud Grandma to Eli and Luke. They always looked forward to receiving her cards and annual nutcracker for Christmas.
Karen met Rex Machlan later in life and the two married at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They found a companion in one another until his passing in 2012. They took care of one another, enjoyed traveling to the Catalina Islands, watching sports, and volunteering for the Cow Palace. Their happiest were spent in retirement living Palm Springs, California.
Karen had many seasons throughout her life and enjoyed them all. Her last years revolved around her friends at Heritage Assisted Living playing bingo and many other activities. She always had a smile on her face and was able to find the positives in life. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Karen is survived by her daughter Sherri Gilchrest and husband Terry; grandson Eli Gilchrest; grandson Luke Gilchrest; step son Tracy Machlan and wife Jimmie; brother Robert Bianchi and wife Crystel; and her life long friend Rosalind Lonzo Pimentel.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents Betty and William Bianchi; and husband Rex Machlan.
