Kile Lee Coats

Kile Lee Coats of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the age of 60 years old.
Kile was born on Mother's Day, May 12, 1963, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the oldest child of Jeane and Leroy Coats.. The Daily Oklahoman ran a story about the first Mother's Day baby and published a picture of Jeane holding him. He was born a little early and was her Mother's Day surprise. He was raised alongside his younger siblings Julie and Trice.
He attended school in Tuttle where he played basketball and drove his beloved black mustang. Kile graduated with the Tuttle High School class of 1981. He went on to attend college at Oklahoma State University where he graduated with his bachelors degree in business management.
Kile married Tamara Thomas July 14, 1990 and from that union was blessed with a bonus son Tyler Brock as well as his two daughters Lauren Taylor, and Kaytlin Lee. He considered his children his greatest accomplishment and was proud of the lives they built for themselves.
Kile entered the workplace in merchandising for Dillards. He then started his career with the Oklahoma City Fire Department where he retired as Corporal after 28 years of service.
Kile was happiest when he was outdoors with his dogs hunting and fishing at the family ranch. Being at the cabin surrounded by nature, he was known for his talent to make meals out of whatever was on hand and it was always delicious. This is where his years of cooking at the fire department paid off.
Kile had a special relationship with Sheri Welch. The two found the companion they were looking for later in life. Sheri was a devoted partner, confidant, and caregiver for Kile when he needed it most.
Kile is survived by his mother Jeane Coats; daughter Lauren Zenner and husband Rob; daughter Katie Coats; son Tyler Gaylord; grandchildren McKenzie, Maddyson, Brock, Blakely, and Amara Gaylord, Lorelai and Livia Zenner, and Dax Johnston; sister Julie Craig and husband Steve; partner Sheri Welch; uncle Kenneth Ray Boyer; cousin Kenny Boyer and wife Sherry; and cousin Kayla Boyer.
Kile is preceded in death by his father Leroy Coats and his brother Trice Coats.
