Margie Ann Harp, age 85, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at her home in Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Margie was born March 21, 1939 in Keystone, Oklahoma, a daughter of Cynthia and Sam Sisco. She was raised in Burbank, Oklahoma alongside her siblings where she attended school through the seventh grade. Margie's family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma when she entered eighth grade and she became involved as a cheerleader in school. Margie graduated Ponca City High School with the class of 1957.
Margie's family moved to Van Buren, Arkansas after her high school graduation. She worked at a local diner where she met Billy Dean Harp. She wasn't sure what she thought of him at first; however, Billy was persistent and eventually they went on a date and the rest was history. Margie and Billy promised to love each other for better or worse on March 01, 1963 and they did for 61 years. With her marriage to Billy, Margie was blessed with three bonus children Choyah, Nakita, and Steven. Margie and Bill were blessed with their only child together with the birth of Kevin Dean. Margie was a mother who knew the importance of discipline and her family always knew a home cooked meal was waiting on them. Her favorite role was being grandma to her nine grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Margie was a grandmother that was always there for her grandkids, watching over and cooking for them.
Margie loved collecting antiques, was an amazing cook who was especially proud of her pie crust, grew a garden for many years, and had a special talent for growing roses. Margie was a very witty and caring woman who was devoted to her faith in the Lord. She read her bible, quoted scripture, and her life was a living testimony to being a Godly woman.
Margie is survived by her husband of 61 years Billy Harp; son Kevin Harp and wife Patty; daughter Nakita Skiles and husband Robert; grandson Rusty Root and wife Amy; grandson Tony Root and wife Tommi; granddaughter Nivea Calico and husband Gene; grandson Choyah Calico II, grandson Nick Root and wife Samantha; granddaughter Stephanie Harp; granddaughter Kerry Harp; grandson Nathan Harp and wife Kayla; granddaughter Jordan Harp; 21 great grandchildren, sister Lois Basheers and husband Johnny; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents Cynthia and Sam Sisco; brother Russell Sisco; brother Oland Sisco; brother Billy Sisco; sister Mary Gordon; sister Lula Coffman; step son Choyah Calico; and son Steven Harp.
