Marla Jo Brackett

Marla Jo Brackett, 66, passed away on July 24, 2021, with her children by her side after a courageous battle with brain cancer..

Marla Brackett was born on August 14, 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Martha and Lewis Brooklyn Cox. She was raised in Tuttle and attended school where she was involved in band playing the clarinet. Marla graduated from Tuttle High School in 1972. She married Louis Brackett after high school and from that union was blessed with a son Brandon Louis and a daughter Mandy Jo. Her children truly were her entire world. While raising children, she worked at her fathers business Brooks Carpet. Later in life she worked as an administrative assistant in Radiology at OU Health Science Center. She retired in August of 2019 after 18 years.

Marla was best known for her loving and friendly personality and obsession with the color pink, hearts and antiques. She loved her title Meme the most that she earned after becoming a grandmother to Tallen Joel and Annabelle Jo. Traveling with her sisters and friends was always a joy along with antique shopping and reading.

Marla is survived by her son Brandon Brackett; daughter Mandy Lingle and husband Andy; grandson Tallen Brackett; granddaughter Annabelle Lingle; mother Martha Cox; sisters Roxie McBride, Cynthia Jones and husband Jerry and Paula Cox along with a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Marla is preceded in death by her father Lewis Brooklyn Cox and her niece Nicole Sanders.
