Mary Ollie Robinson

Mary O Robinson, age 75, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Mary was born on February 5, 1950, in Fairview, Oklahoma to Charles and Nettie Croskey, the twentieth of twenty-one children. Raised in humble beginnings, she attended Cookson Hill Christian School until the eighth grade before leaving school to help her family on the family farm.

At 18, in 1968, Mary married Mike Norman. Together they welcomed two children, Barbara Michelle and Mike Alan. Embracing both maternal and paternal roles, Mary instilled in her children a love for the outdoors—teaching them to fish, camp, and explore places like Fort Cobb—while also ensuring they learned the discipline needed to navigate life.

In the early 1990s, Mary answered a singles ad and met Stanley Lew. What began as a pen-pal friendship blossomed into love, and the pair eventually married. Stanley, a truck driver, and Mary traveled extensively across the country; she proudly noted that the only states she hadn’t visited were Hawaii and Alaska.

Mary adored her grandchildren and was always loving and present for them. Her home was open to anyone in need, and her unconditional warmth made everyone feel welcome.

Mary was a trailblazer in her era working in construction and building mobile homes. Never one to turn down a good bargain, Mary often considered the local goodwill store a second home. Where she always said "it's brand spankin new!". She loved dancing and singing along to great music, and she even had a knack for turning a penny into $500 at the casino. Whether fishing, camping on sunny days, or cooking enough to feed an army, Mary’s passions were many—but above all, her family was her greatest treasure. To everyone who knew her, she was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a second mom or grandma, always radiating love and care.

She is survived by her son Mike Alan Norman of Chickasha, OK and wife Crystal; grandchildren Heather Ollin Brock, Derrek Marvin Brock and wife Rachel Lynn; Maegan Michelle Parish and husband Brandon "Tiger"; Kaylee Erin Miller; Shana Kay Miller, and three great-granddaughters, Oakley Mae Leras, Zofia Rose Brock, and Addisyn Michelle Parish; her sister Edna Gilbert; and brother Dale Gilbert

She is preceded by: her parents; her daughter Barbara Michelle Miller and nineteen brothers and sisters
