Patricia Ann Braxton

Patricia Braxton, 64, passed away on January 7, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Patricia Braxton was born on August 26, 1957 in Berkeley, CA, to Norma and George Whitley, Jr. She was raised in Bethany, OK and graduated from Bethany High School in 1975. Following graduation, Patricia enlisted in the Air National Guard working as a bookkeeper until being honorable discharged after nine years of service. She went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Accounting while living in Phoenix, Arizona and continued her career as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 2016. Her family established Cosmetology Schools in Chickasha, OK, El Reno, OK, Bethany, OK and Edmond, OK. Patricia worked as a cosmetologist and instructor for many yeras. The family also established Bells Convenience Stores in 1977 with locations in Bethany, Tuttle, Bridge Creek and Newcastle. Patricia loved the stores and enjoyed talking with the customers.

Patricia was blessed with one daughter Sarah Elizabeth who was her entire world. They enjoyed watching old John Wayne movies together. Sarah was her devoted care giver for nine years until her passing.

Patricia was best known for her love for others, reading, studying faith based books, spending time with her grandchildren Alyssa Lou, Lexie EmilyMarie and Dean Wolf. These three were the light of her life. She enjoyed watching them play soccer, help with their home work and do bible study in the evenings. She had a heart filled with love and shared it with everyone she met. She left a bit of her love with everyone.

Patricia is survived by her daughter Sarah Braxton; grandchildren Alyssa, Lexie and Dean; four brothers Billy Whitley, Nathan Whitley, Herbert Douglas Bell and Dino Bell along with her great aunt and uncle, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Patricia is preceded in death by her father George Whitley, Jr.; mother Norma Bell; Dad Herbert Bell and brother Robert Bell.

A Celebration of Life Service for Patricia will be held 3pm Friday, January 14, 2022 at Tri City Worship Center in Newcastle, OK.
