Penny Annette Romero

Penny Annette Romero passed from this life on May 31, 2024 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.

Penny was born to Martha Hunt (Rodgers) and Harold Dickey on December 5, 1963. In 1980, she married Joy Romero and from this union four children were born. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children and family. Her favorite times were spent around a table playing Wahoo with her kids. She was a dedicated grandmother and soon to be great-grandmother. Her dog Bullet was her best friend and constant companion.

Penny attended Hope Tabernacle and leaned heavily on her faith in her final days.

Penny is survived by her partner Edwin “Sam” Ortiz, son Michael Romero and wife Loree; daughter Liane Howell; daughter Sara Ellis and husband Stanton; son Timothy Romero and wife Kealee; twelve grandchildren Elaina Romero, Ethan Romero, Emily Verhines and fiance' Tayton Smith, Hannah Verhines and Jeremy, Mykah Romero, Anston Ortiz and Mackenzi Eslin , Kyler Ortiz and Shelby Barker, Jayden Ortiz and Jayla Dowdle, Tierney Romero, Brenden Romero, Evelyn Romero, Heston Romero; great-granddaughter Wrenley Smith; sister Barbara Sumner and husband Roger; Dillon Duke and family, Todd and Michelle Smith and family, Lily Martin, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents, Martha Alice Hunt and Harold Wayne Dickey; and her brother Michael Dickey.
