Randy Carol Mills

June 26, 1953 — June 15, 2023

Randy Carol Mills, age 69, of Tuttle, Oklahoma,  passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at his home in Tuttle, Oklahoma.

Randy was born June 26, 1953 in Binger, Oklahoma, a son of  Nellie and H.E. Mills.  He was raised on the family peanut farm alongside his brothers Rodney, Ricky and Rodger. He attended school at Ft. Cobb where he played  baseball and in his spare time played guitar in the Peanut Pickers band.  Randy graduated with the Ft. Cobb High School class of 1971.

As Randy entered the world of adulting, he married Patricia Clayton and together they brought a son Timothy Don into the world.  His son was the light of his world, the true reason for living every day.  Even though the union did not endure the test of time, his deep focus remained on work and being a good provider.

Randy had worked for Tube Scope Threading Pipe and later in life was self employed.  He was a jack of all trades doing a great deal of work in the area of lawn maintenance.  He had a work ethic that was second to none that involved long hours and was someone people could count on.

He met Alice Lawrence in 1974 at the Cabaret Club of Ft. Cobb.  Alice was immediately drawn to Randy's gift of dancing.  On December 13, 1974, they were married after push starting their only car, a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle, in order to make it to the courthouse.  That evening, the two attended the National Rodeo with his parents.  His marriage to Alice included her daughter Tammy Renee who he loved and cared for as his own.  Later, three more daughters joined the family Terenda Lynn, Tonya Dale, and Randy Carol.  He was a wonderful Dad and provider who was often seen standing along the fence watching the girls play softball while filming on his camcorder.

For Randy and the family, vacations usually surrounded what softball tournament the girls were playing in with the exception of one trip to California.  The family loaded in their truck referred to as "Big Foot" and drove from Oklahoma to the see the Grand Canyon, the Las Vegas strip, and Disney Land.  Randy loved all sweets but had a special place for lemon meringue pie and had a talent for grilling deer steak and brisket.  He was happiest outdoors working with his hands, especially on old tractors.

Randy is survived by his wife Alice Mills; daughter Tammy Murphy; son Tim Mills; daughter Terenda Lester and husband Jay; daughter Tonya Wheeler and husband Brian; daughter Randy Modesto and husband Andrew; grandchildren Lindsay Shearon, Riley Swanson, Emma Mills, Hunter Mills, Kourtney Lester, Jaylynn Jarrell and husband Shane, Micah Lester, Brayden Wheeler, Hailey Wheeler, Storie Wheeler, Cadence Modesto, Ean Modesto, and Fynley Modesto; great granddaughter Alyssa Shearon; brother Rodger Mills and wife Joanne; nephews Heath Ishman and his wife Kirsty and Derrick Ishman; niece Toni Oglesby; great nieces Kairi and Lily Ishman; great nephews Garrett Ishman , Josh Oglesby and his wife Kate and Cody Oglesby and his daughter, Robin.
