Rhett Golowenski, 23, passed away on March 25, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Rhett was born on May 19, 1999 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Dusty London and Robert Golowenski. He had an active childhood, growing up in Tuttle, Oklahoma with his two younger brothers, Jack and Luke. As a child, Rhett's tenacity and unwavering spirit made him a natural leader among his cousins, who were always eager to follow his lead. He was an accomplished wrestler for the Tuttle Tigers, winning the OSSAA 4-A State Championship a remarkable three times and was 5X All American for Team Oklahoma. Wrestling was a passion for Rhett, and he was well-respected by his coaches and teammates for his hard work and dedication.
Rhett graduated from Tuttle High School in 2018 and went on to earn a scholarship to attend Appalachian State University and Oklahoma State University as a member of their collegiate wrestling programs. However, Rhett discovered that he wanted to follow the family tradition in the sheet metal industry. He was excited to be in apprentice school, working with his hands. Rhett was determined to achieve greatness in everything he did.
Rhett was a fun loving young man who exuded an infectious energy wherever he went, always with an ornery grin on his face, he was fiercely passionate about wrestling, but also enjoyed unwinding by heading out to Lake Texoma, honing his culinary skills in the kitchen as Chef Boy RG, listening to his favorite tunes, and showing off his latest fashion finds. Rhett had an effortless way of making even the most routine activities feel exhilarating, and his bold and adventurous spirit was obvious to all who knew him.
Rhett is survived by his mother Dusty London; father Robert Golowenski; brother Jack Golowenski; brother Luke Golowenski; bonus father Raymond Yanes and bonus sister Jersey Yanes. He is also survived by his grandparents Mike and Teresa London and Dorothy Golowenski, as well as aunts and uncles, Trena and Bryan Lingle, Trent and Julia London, Dave and Liz Golowenski, Janet Baxter, Elaine and Tony Berstling, Karen Owens, Dorothy and Jerry Ralls, John Golowenski, Lynne and Jeff Kramer, Michelle and Larry Hartman and Renee Golowenski and many beloved cousins who were also some of his closest friends.
