Roger Eugene Stipe, 73, of Newcastle, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2025. Born on July 10, 1951, Roger dedicated his life to his family and his country as an enlisted member of the United States military.
With his parents’ permission, Roger proudly enlisted into the US Air Force on May 5, 1969 at the age of 17 and remained so until his medical retirement on November 5, 1973, where twelve days later married the love of his life. His military career took him to various parts of the world, including tours in Laos, Thai Land, Guam, Denver, Kansas City, and San Francisco. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
Following his distinguished military service, Roger continued to serve his community as a draftsman for the Indiana Highway Department before finding a position at Delta Faucet in Greensburg, Indiana in 1981. There, he started off as a draftsman and worked his way up until retiring as the Supervising Engineer over Tooling in 2015.
In his retirement, Roger enjoyed working on his cars, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his four grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Lynda; his children Kimberly (Todd) Abshire and Joseph (Jennifer) Stipe, his grandchildren, Rory Abshire, Nolynn Abshire, Gavyn Abshire, and Scotlynn Stipe, his half-brother Jeff (Kimberly) Stipe, his half-sister Deborah Collins, and many nieces and cousins.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Myrna Tellas, and Robert F. Stipe, and half-brother Robert D. Stipe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gary Sinise Foundation in Roger’s name at donate.garysinisefoundation.org, which honors and assists our defenders, veterans, first responders, and their families.
