Sandra Jean Schwieger

November 22, 1948 — March 5, 2024

Sandra Jean Schwieger, age 75, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Sandra was born November 22, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ralph and Dora Brown. She was raised in Oklahoma City alongside her brothers Donnie and Michael. Sandra attended Lawton Eisenhower High School, graduating with the class of 1967.
In 1969, Sandra married Thomas Schwieger. From that union, they were blessed with two children -- Christopher Michael and Carrie Michelle. They were an Air Force family and traveled the world and had many adventures together. She laughed hard, lived hard, loved hard, and taught her children to do the same.
Sandra was strong-willed and stubborn, but she also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor, and was loyal and brave. She was clever, quick-thinking, and full of knowledge gained throughout her life experiences.
Sandra will be remembered for the heart she shared with her family and friends; she truly loved each of them - if you knew her, you knew it. Besides her love for others, Sandra loved to cook. If she didn't know how to help you, you would feed you! She was in her element in her favorite room of the house, the kitchen. They say the kitchen is the heart of the home and she was the heart of the family. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity and strength and was full of love for those that went before her.
She is survived by her son Christopher Schwieger and wife Cindy; daughter Carrie Schwieger; her brothers and their families and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora and Ralph Brown.
